- Owner’s Rashi and Nakshatra – To select a day that aligns with the owner’s personal energy and destiny.
- Tithi, Weekday, and Lagna – These time elements must be auspicious and supportive for beginning construction or performing Vastu Puja.
- Direction of the Plot or House – Each facing direction has specific rules in Vastu, influencing the choice of the right day and time.
- Whether the Building Layout Follows Vastu Principles – Ensures that the structure supports health, wealth, and overall well-being.
- Position and Monthly Movement of Vastu Purusha – The head and body orientation of Vastu Purusha changes every Tamil month, guiding which side of the land should be touched first.

Tamil months are based on the movement of the Sun through the 12 rasis, and each month is named according to the Poornima (Full Moon) that occurs in a particular Nakshatra. The head direction of the Vastu Purusha also changes with every Tamil month.
Because of this, selecting the correct Tamil month is very important for Vastu Day, Vastu Pooja, and especially for planning new construction.
