Marriage Horoscope Matching
Horoscope matching is the process of comparing the birth charts (Jathagam/Kundali) of the bride and groom to check marital compatibility. Different traditional methods in Marriage matching
Pookatti Vaithu Parthal (Divine Consent through Flowers)
Two flowers of different colors (usually white and red) are wrapped separately in identical packets of cloth or paper and placed before the deity
A child or a neutral person is asked to pick one packet. Beforehand, the family decides which color represents “Yes” and which represents “No.” If the “Yes” color is picked, it is seen as the god’s direct command to proceed with the marriage
Kuri Kettal & Poosai (Divine Oracles)
During a special puja, families watch for specific omens, such as a lizard chirping in a certain direction or a flower falling from the right side of the deity
a priest or oracle sought a divine sign (kuri). The indication received was considered the deity’s permission or warning.
